Monster Math: Roll a Monster

We broke out our trusty dice again to make some monsters. I got a stack of foam circles from Dollar Tree, pulled out the pom-poms and eyes and then started to roll and see how many each monster would get.

First I told Lucy to roll for eyes. She stuck on the corresponding amount of eyes. Then she rolled for noses, drew on a circle mouth (to reiterate letter O), and rolled to see how many teeth to draw inside. Finally, she glued the monster face to a piece of construction paper, drew on a body then rolled for arms and legs. After the first one, she didn't want to do arms and legs anymore so she just made a bunch of crazy faces.

She loved this activity so much, she did it again the next day! I think next time, we'll do more than one die to start working on addition.
